During the afternoon, learn how to weave a peg-loom sit mat using raw fleece. The fleece is from my own or my neighbours’ sheep so I have mainly Jacob, Ryeland and other coloured breeds.
A sit mat is a small, thick, cosy mat that can be used when out walking for sitting on cold wet rocks. People also use them for outdoor seats, yoga head rests and cat beds! The possibilities are endless . Once you know how to weave a small mat you can go onto make rugs in all shapes and sizes.
Lunch is available to buy beforehand in the cafe where they sell a lovely selection of freshly cooked food and sandwiches.
The day costs £40 and all materials are provided.
Peg -looms, twine and fleece will be available to purchase, subject to availability.
