During the morning, learn how to weave a peg-loom sit mat using raw fleece. The fleece is from my own sheep and some from neighbours so I have Jacob, Ryeland, Balwen and Zwarble.
A sit mat is a small, thick, cosy mat that can be used when out walking for sitting on cold wet rocks. People also use them for outdoor seats, yoga head rests and cat beds! The possibilities are endless . Once you know how to weave a small mat you can go onto make rugs in all shapes and sizes.
Lunch is available to buy in the cafe where they sell a lovely selection of freshly cooked food and sandwiches.
After lunch I will take you on a guided walk around the hills and woods of Myddfai, a beautiful area. You can bring your mat to sit on too…
This is a relaxed day in a small group (max 6 people) and is suitable for beginners. For the walk you’ll need to be able to cover 8km at a moderate pace.
The day costs £50 and all materials are provided.
