The viewpoint above the viaduct

Cost : £15 per person on scheduled walks

This short, hilly 5km (3 mile) walk from Cynghordy Station packs a real punch..

The route climbs the hill across the railway track and head across the fields arriving eventually at the Cynghordy Viaduct viewpoint. The view of this Victorian structure is awe inspiring.

Once you’ve taken it all in and read the information boards about the Carbon Community Project being developed there, the path leads you downhill where you’ll walk right under the towering stones of the 16-arch viaduct and look around the grounds of the pretty Gosen Chapel.

The route back to the station is uphill again, passing through an ancient holloway and across the Heart of Wales railway line.
