Nestled deep in the Cambrian Mountains, you reach Cwm Gwesyn from the starting point in the hamlet of Abergwesyn. Crossing fords, and streams to the sound of nearby waterfalls, this valley is absolutely magical. The route meanders alongside the river Gwesyn before reaching the gushing falls at Sgwd Y Ffrwd. A wonderful place to rest and watch for wildlife. The route continues with a climb up above the waterfall and then a tough walk across the remote moorlands up to the beehive cairns of Drygarn Fawr. (645m). After time at the cairns we descend back across moors and forestry before a long stretch back on the quiet road through Abergwesyn Common, along the banks of the river Irfon.
