This navigation course is suitable for anyone who has completed a beginner’s navigation course or equivalent. It builds on those skills and adds the use of a compass for navigation, use of grid references, navigating off the footpath and safety in the hills.
We will start with a discussion and some theory , then you will refresh and consolidate your beginner’s skills out on footpaths. The next step is to head into the hills to start practicing using the compass.
The course will be based somewhere in the western part of Bannau Brycheiniog, so participants will need to be able to spend a day outside, walking in the hills. There will not be any excessive hill-climbing or long distances covered.
